If you are a Mechanical Design Engineer who is located in a commutable distance to Barrow-in-Furness, or would relocate to the area - please apply below if you would like to work on some of the worlds most exciting marine projects for a global leader in Defence.
Key responsibilities:
- Producing 3D models of either Pipe routes, HVAC systems or mechanical compartment arrangements using the CAD toolset
- Your responsibilities will also include producing 2D drawings and electronic data and BoM item development to a fast - paced schedule to support manufacturing, installation, and testing of our products
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with other Design team members and Stakeholders who are working towards the same common goal
- Working as a team to produce an Integrated Design that meets our client's expectations and agreed set of requirements
Skills/experience required:
- Understanding of CAD toolsets and techniques e.g. Foran, Solidworks and Siemens NX etc. in both 2D (Diagrams) and 3D outputs (drawings and models)
- HNC / ONC level or degree qualification in relevant STEM subject or equivalent work experience
- Understanding of mechanical routed systems at both 2D and 3D level in either piping or HVAC design
- Experience in Mechanical Compartment Integration / Room Integration and or Engineering Standards at Component / Equipment level
