10 x Principal Mechanical Engineers Initial 12 Month Contracts Huddersfield - Full time on site £65.98 Per Hour (Inside IR35) The Role Acting principally under the direction of the Technical Authority, to work flexibly within the Engineering team on assigned gearbox design projects and associated product engineering activities. The scope of the tasks will primarily comprise/address the mechanical design and detailing of high integrity gearboxes, components and assemblies, but will include other supporting systems and equipment such as couplings, instrumentation, lubrication, materials selection, documentation and test rig design as necessary. Liaison with other engineering team members and other DBS functional teams during project work is an integral part of the role. The Candidate Engineering design of geared transmission systems and components Develop designs and/or re-engineering of existing designs for new applications. Design of test equipment and procedures for gearboxes Interpretation and comprehension of customer specifications, design standards including geometric tolerancing. Work with & support other team members, including those in adjacent disciplines including Analysis & Development. Lead engineering tasks on assigned projects. Interpretation and comprehension of customer and Standards requirements (eg., performance, safety conformance) Create deliverable documentation including Proposals, Manuals, Installation and Maintenance instructions as necessary. 2 & 3D CAD usage at expert level, Solid Edge preferred. Create component and assembly drawings. Drawing and technical documentation checking. BOM and gear data generation and engineering change control processing Technical liaison and problem solving with Production Engineering and Supply Chain teams. This is an exciting role working within the E-Scan Radar Equipment Design Responsibility (EDR) team on Eurofighter Typhoon in support of the Complex Electronic Hardware (CEH) development effort on the E-Scan Radar programme. What you'll be doing: Review supplier Data Requirement Lists (DRLs) Support the resolution of CEH related problems Review CEH declarations and evidence in clearance documentation Generate CEH Summary Reports for each formal Radar Software release Support Certification Authority led CEH Stage of Involvement (SoI) audits at supplier premises at European supplier/sites Your skills and experiences: A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience (preferably with Software or Systems Engineering focus) Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications A proactive approach to problem solving Experience/knowledge of radar systems is desirable The salary is £50,000 to £55,000 plus benefits and is a hybrid role.

I'm looking for Combat Systems Integration Engineer to join BAE Systems in Frimley, Surrey. This is a great opportunity to be part of the certification process for Combat System software to in-service Submarines. What you'll be doing: Undertaking various test events on the integration facility Developing test script and procedures to test Combat Systems Manage the completion of routine maintenance on the integration rigs Support in the development of alternative test procedures and practices Provide specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise in the testing of Submarine systems Ensure design proving evidence is comprehensive, captured within the requirements management tools and has been endorsed by the appropriate level of authority Your skills and experiences: Experience of Submarine/Maritime Combat applications Degree level qualification within an Engineering field or equivalent experience Knowledge and experience of Sonar capability This would suit an experienced Systems Integration Engineer that has previous Maritime Combat Systems experience.
