On behalf of my client, a leading Aerospace and Defence Electronics organisation based in Greater Manchester I am pleased to present the opportunity for a Demand Planner to work on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts and collaborating with multiple departments, including Commercial and Operations, to align business processes and strategies. This is a truly exciting role for a candidate who is adept at managing complexities in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating problem-solving skills and adaptability. This role requires a blend of analytical expertise and business acumen to ensure that production capabilities meet or exceed demand forecasts. You will be responsible for: Developing and maintaining detailed schedules to meet operational demands by planning material and forecasted demand to meet budget Raising sales orders and uploading into MRP after contract review Raising and issuing works orders as required by the delivery schedule Expediting or deferring orders as required in line with schedule / inventory changes 5. Collaborating with department heads and team members to gather scheduling needs and prioritise tasks performing scenario planning when required Monitoring and adjusting schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in priorities, employee availability, and unforeseen circumstances Analysing scheduling data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Identify supply chain constraints and discrepancies between supply and demand Preparing and presenting forecast and inventory metrics to the Operations team Utilising scheduling software and tools to streamline the scheduling process and enhance communication You will have: Relevant experience in scheduling, planning, or a related role Proficiency in scheduling software and tools (ERP, Microsoft Office, FileMaker, etc) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy The package: * You'll receive a very competitive salary (£££ offered depends on level of experience), an early Friday finish and other benefits including pension, life assurance and 25 days' (plus bank holidays). The role holder may be responsible for: Supporting timely placement of Purchase Orders whilst ensuring adherance to Supply Chain/Supplier governance such as supplier accreditations and export controls Updating delivery dates into multiple ERP systems to ensure data accuracy Effective customer relationship management maintaining strong, effective relationships Interfacing across the Air business and with other teams and functions, e.g. PM, Engineering, Commercial, Finance Adhering to Supply Chain/Supplier governance such as supplier accreditations and export controls Assisting colleagues with ad hoc tasks Experience required:- Procurement experience preferably in a high volume, fast paced aerospace or manufacturing market Supply Chain orderbook management experience Good verbal and written communication skills A proven ability to collaborate, fostering close & trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders Demonstrative working understanding of tool sets and IT such as ERP systems, Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially EXCEL Ability to compile data, analyse and propose recommendations through reports and presentations Tableau dashboarding. Manage or oversee the management of contracts throughout their life in conjunction with the business: o Proactively manage instances of supplier under-performance against cost, quality and schedule. o Raise formal documents to support the sourcing and contracting process, including Request for Information, Request for Quotation, Assessment documents, Purchase Orders. o Manage supplier payment process and resolve any goods receiving and supplier debt issues. o Identify, deliver and record savings. o Effectively manage order book, to ensure timely deliveries and accurate cash forecasting.
