Would you like to join an international defence company to support their clients by improving the capability, reliability and availability of their most critical assets? Due to continued investment, this global business is currently looking for a Senior Engineer to join their existing team in Plymouth (typically only a couple of days a month on site) on a 12 month inside IR35 contract.

The Role

As a Senior Engineer, you will be supporting the project team to deliver the Dockside Rigs and Dock Bottom Village to the required scope, quality, schedule and cost. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • support the engineering capability of the new systems through design phases, procurement, manufacture, commissioning, and handover into operations

  • ensure that the design documentation covers the scope of operations required by the Project Manager and is produced to agreed standards, schedule and budget

  • ensuring the processes and activities being managed are appropriately documented with appropriate records maintained and configuration and quality controls applied.

You

To succeed within the role of a Senior Engineer, you should be a Chartered Engineer with a degree in an appropriate engineering discipline and have experience in a similar position and be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and sound understanding of engineering practice required in the technical management of complex design development throughout the design lifecycle:

  • Capital Equipment
  • Mechanical Handling Systems
  • Steel and Aluminium Handling and Processing Industries
  • Heavy Industry Workshop and Process Lines
  • Maritime Defence
  • Oil / Gas / Subsea

You should also have sound project specification, planning, project management and budgeting experience to support design, construction / manufacture, acceptance, installation, operation and repair and experience of substantiation of process equipment for justification of Nuclear Safety Functions.

Please note that due to security nature of this role, we can only consider those who are sole British nationals and are eligible for SC security clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and will require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
