Would you like to solve some of the most interesting design challenges in the defence industry today? Due to continued investment, this global business is currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join an international defence company at their site in Preston or Warrington on a 12 months contract.
The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will manage the delivery of engineering and technical activities, through the application of process, domain knowledge and experience. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Assist in effective management of the customer, including liaison and relationship development with existing and new customers, to aid the development of business, resolution of technical and delivery issues, and such that the customer is fully briefed and informed of progress
- Contribute to Project Safety Assessment process
- Produce, review and approve calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design basis documentation and technical reports as assigned
In addition, you will also evaluate technical issues in order to develop proposals for investigations and/or solutions, including process improvements.
You
To succeed within the role of a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll have experience in a similar position and have the following skills:
- Engineering degree (or equivalent qualification) in relevant engineering discipline
- Experience of the design support to construction, operation, refit/repair of conventional and nuclear submarines and/or facilities
- Competent user in MathCad, AutoCad and Inventor
