On behalf of my client, a global Aerospace and Defence manufacturer organisation based in Greater Manchester I am pleased to present the opportunity for a Production Engineer on a permanent basis.
This role is primarily responsible for providing technical support for products within the Operations function.

You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the technical engineering input within Operations (Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain).
- Supporting the technical justification for change control within an Operations environment.
- Supporting the supply chain function with technical queries.
- Supporting the Engineering (NPI) function with change control feedback.
- Presenting change control technical rational into the Engineering Design Authority.
- Supporting the implementation of fresh, cost effective, best practice technological methods which enhances operational performance and customer satisfaction.
You:
- An experienced engineer from a similar industry, able to demonstrate multi functional engineering competence.
- Solid understanding of Lean Principles and process variation (Green Belt desirable)
- Solid understanding of Core Manufacturing tools and able to implement - OEE , Value Stream Mapping, Continuous improvement methods i.e. Kaizen.
- Solid understanding of APQP so to assist members of NPI Team.
- Qualified to a minimum of HNC / HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with previous experience in electronic manufacturing (Aerospace industry experience is highly desirable).
- Ability to problem solve a wide range of technical issues (Mechanical, Electrical & Process).
- Microsoft Office experience.
- Be proactive using methods so to prevent failures within Customer/Production - PFMEA or Ishikawa.
