Mechanical Design Engineer
Initial 12 Month Contract
Hybrid - 3 days per week on site in Christchurch, Dorset
£57.33 Per Hour (Umbrella Rate - Inside IR35)
The Role
- Design and development of packaging & mounting arrangements for COTS.
- Design of electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Producing part & GA drawings.
- Peer reviews.
- Designing for manufacture review.
- Routing cables in 3D CAD.
- Producing cable/harness assemblies and drawings.
The Candidate
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD packages such as Siemens NX or Solidworks.
- Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices.
- Experience of designing sheet metal, machined parts and assemblies.
- A basic understanding of electronics (desirable)
- FEA, CFD simulation experience (desirable)
- Experience with designing for EMC compliance (desirable)
