Would you like to solve some of the most interesting design challenges in the defence industry today? Due to continued investment, this global business is currently looking for a Dreadnought Programme Manager to join their existing team in Bristol, hybrid working on an initial 6 month contract.

The Role

As a Dreadnought Programme Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary to lead our mission critical, high profile and complex programme with change and transformational elements.

Your key responsibilities will be to lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver systems for the UK's national deterrent Platform, the Dreadnought class SSBN. You will have comprehensive experience of managing programmes in the support of delivery of large and technically complex equipment/system contracts, preferably for MoD and commercial customers.

We are looking for an accomplished leader with excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to interact successfully at a senior level, Commercial and MoD customers. You will be confident, tenacious and naturally inclined to always find solutions to challenging situations. Importantly you will need ability to champion high performance and inspire others.

Day to day, you'll be providing leadership, guidance, and support to a large team prioritising to meet delivery commitments and financial goals. You will be the person responsible for interacting directly with the Customer and ensuring their awareness and confidence in the business' delivery remains high. To achieve this you will possess experience in developing and implementing business cases, delivery plans and growth strategies.

To succeed within the role of a Dreadnought Programme Manager, you'll have experience in a similar position and have the following skills:

  • Have a strong level of Project and Programme Management knowledge, plus experience and track record in delivering complex engineering programmes from design through to manufacture with complex supply chains
  • Experience of working within the Defence and Security sector
  • Degree or equivalent qualification / experience
  • APM PMQ, Chartered status or equivalent
  • Holds a recognised project management qualification such as APM PMQ, ChPP or equivalent
  • Be eligible for SC level (UK) security

Please note that due to security nature of this role, offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining security clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and will require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
