Preston Based (Hybrid)

£47.31 an hour Umbrella Inside IR35

6 Month Contract initially.



This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UK's leading Defence organisations based In Preston. 2-3 days per week on site.

As a Software Procurement Manager, you will lead in managing one of our software categories with a focus on the procurement lifecycle and category management of a range of products, projects and services across a number of business units. As the subject matter expert you will represent IPS, meeting with other business units and functional areas supporting in strategy creation and implementation/ deployment to meet the operational needs of the business.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work with the breadth of Indirect Procurement across multiple category's and sectors.

  • Implement strategic supplier relationship management with key suppliers including leading the SRM with Microsoft.
  • The development and implementation of a Software category strategy covering UK & RoW
  • Negotiation and delivery of Enterprise Agreements for software requirements
  • Management of contracts at various stages of contract lifecycle requiring strong commercial acumen
  • Engage cross-functional and cross-business stakeholders in software category management and strategy development, whilst also supporting the creation of technology roadmaps
  • Complex issue management related to the software category

Your skills and qualifications:

  • Experience of working with Microsoft, directly and through a reseller
  • MCIPS Qualified or studying towards
  • Experience of procurement processes and strategy development
  • Leading Supplier Management of Key Suppliers
  • Experience of contract negotiations
  • Experience of team management
  • Experience of Technology or software market (desirable)
