Powertrain Simulation Engineer (Remote working, Outside IR35)

Due to a drive for greater success, this advanced manufacturing business is currently searching for a Powertrain Simulation Engineer to add to their talented, hardworking team on a 12 month contract. The Role


As a Powertrain Simulation Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop performance battery and powertrain models and perform thermal/electrical simulation activities.
  • Maintenance and development of 0D/1D powertrain models to support a variety of use cases and requirements.
  • Responsible to conduct the validation plans on powertrain model on in flight test aircraft and fleet aircraft.

In addition, you will also be developing and coordinating test plans to ensure the powertrain model is fully validated by the time the certification is required and be responsible for the development of standard MATLAB/Simulink process and development of automation tools.

You

To succeed within the role of a Powertrain Simulation Engineer, you will have the following skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or related field, or a combination of education and experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience in (performance) powertrain modelling and programming skills.
  • Experience of BEV powertrain development is required.
  • Working knowledge of software including MATLAB and Simulink. Experience with Python is highly appreciated.
  • Advanced understanding of Battery Systems and BMS is highly appreciated.
  • working attitude and enthusiastic problem solver.
  • Hands-on experience working with vehicle LV and HV systems is nice to have.
  • Prior battery component design experience, such as busbars, connectors, etc is nice to have.
