Electrical Modelling Engineer (Remote working, Outside IR35)

Due to a drive for greater success, this advanced manufacturing business is currently searching for an Powertrain Simulation Engineer to add to their talented, hardworking team on a 12 month contract. Striving for innovation and creativity you can ensure no two days will be the same. This role offers remote working with negotiable hourly rate, outside IR35.

The Role


As an Electrical Modelling Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Provide electrical engineering analysis and technical support for the planning and operation of the electric power system.
  • Power system analysis especially short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash.
  • Implement appropriate electrical system modelling, develop tools and procedures to monitor and control the system.
  • Perform system studies, analyse simulated or actual operating results, develop solutions to current or future system issues, and appropriately reports findings and recommendations.
  • Write test plans and perform evaluation testing, including how the electronic components interface with mechanical components.

You

To succeed within the role of an Electrical Modelling Engineer, you will have the following skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field, or a combination of education and experience.
  • 4 years of experience in electrical modelling, programming skills and an understanding of high-power digital design and power fundamentals.
  • Understanding of electrical properties of an electrical distributed powertrain.
  • Working knowledge of software including MATLAB and Simulink. Experience with Python highly appreciated.
  • Extensive background in Electrical Engineering.
  • Work well in a team and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience of BEV powertrain application development
