I'm looking for a Communications Design Engineer to join a leading Defence company in Barrow-in-Furness.
What you'll be doing:
- Deliver technical input and engineering solutions in support of build activities, defect resolution and change management
- Understand the contractual and performance requirements for various systems, and support the definition and associated acceptance criteria and events through design, build, integration, installation and commissioning activities
- Produce documentation required to support the design review process, including: diagrams; technical specifications; supporting calculations; design evidence and justifications
- Undertake design reviews and presentations to customers
- Review relevant supplier documentation and ensure it is captured and recorded appropriately
- Provide technical support to integrated performance and acceptance activities, including acceptance of equipment from suppliers through to system acceptance by the customer
Essential Skills:
- Proven track record of system or equipment design in internal communications systems
- Demonstrable experience of working in different engineering life-cycle phases
- A relevant Science, Technology, Engineering or, Mathematics (STEM) Degree or equivalent qualification and experience within an engineering background
- Technical report writing skills and experienced in requirements definition and management
Desirable Skills:
- Have or be working toward relevant Professional Registration (CEng)
- Experience of system or equipment design in a range of wireless access technologies
The salary is £45,000 to £55,000 plus an excellent benefits package and is a hybrid-working role.
